YOUR BC NDP TEAM IN SAANICH NORTH AND THE ISLANDS

A welcome message from your local Saanich North and the Islands executive team.

With the BC NDP as the governing party, now is the moment to help us take real action and have a voice on all the most crucial issues. Our government has made real progress for people, like reducing the cost of childcare, historic increases to income and disability assistance, increasing investment in schools and hospitals, and building North America's most ambitious climate plan. But we recognize there's still much more work needed to tackle the big challenges facing people and the planet.

Quite simply, we are rolling up our sleeves to help members be the local voice of our party, which follows our proud grassroots tradition. Our local association is passionately committed to ensuring that the future of our planet and the climate crisis is front and centre while also making sure that we care for people (people and the planet!). We support an economy of skilled workers which includes an expansion of $10/day child care, as we transition to a sustainable economy.

We use our voice on various issues, including our proud struggle for strengthening and expanding our public health system. And we recognize that actions like passing the Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples into law must be followed with additional work to build more just and lasting relationships with Indigenous peoples.

These are but a few of the many important issues that we are working on.

Unlike some other political parties, the BC NDP's grassroots tradition means that our supporters have a range of perspectives and don't agree on every issue. But we all agree on a progressive vision to build a fairer and more just world for everyone.
The voices of our members and supporters make our party stronger, and help ensure we are continuously working to improve the lives of British Columbians. With you, we become that much better.
